 Dear Mom & Dad,

Today has been very pleasant. I got up at eleven had dinner went for a walk and found a fellow from home, yep, Joe Geer is here at the same field.  He is Jack Geer’s brother.  We talked for a long time about home and the country.  He said Ed Hennig is stationed at another field close by. Also Dean Sartin is still at another field here.  Looks like there will be a reunion in progress shortly.  I am going to look them up tomorrow.

I got eight letters yesterday and five today.  How am I doing?  Say, Mom, Why don’t you use V-mail it is much better, I think.  We really get good service on it.

I am very tired of loafing but I think you know why.  It shouldn’t be very long, however.  I am living in a tent at present and probably will be for some time.  Are you getting the abatement?  It should be coming thru O.K. now.

Dorothy Cooke has been very good to write so tell her that they are very interesting and to keep it up!  Also Barbara has been writing every day which helps very much.  Mary doesn’t do so good.  I wonder why.  Will write tomorrow.

                                                                                                 All my love,

                                                                                                 Son
