Somewhere

 Dearest Mother & Dad,

I got seven letters from you today. How am I doing?  You can imagine how I felt.

You asked about the chain and stationery.  As yet, I haven’t received them but everything has been quite messed up lately but I am sure I will get them soon.  Yes, I did get the air mail stamps.  Thanks a lot!  As for the envelope that you thought had been opened.  No, Mom, that is the way I sent it.  Sometimes the envelopes stick together and we have to slit the ends open to use them.

Had a very long mission today & I am very tired.  My fanny really does get tired sitting on that boat we use.  I wish they would make them softer.  I don’t know where I’ll see Dr. Pete again but I imagine his outfit will be moving up pretty soon.  He is a swell fellow.  You should have heard some of the stories he knew about some of the people from home.  Boy!  By the way, he practically owns Joe Booth.  Did you know that?

I was surprised at the conversation you and Lillian had.  I know she thinks lots of me and always has but I don’t know.  Maybe when I get back it will all work out.  I am not dead sure on any of them but when I get back and look around I’ll be a little leary because there will be lots of gals looking for a husband.

I see Henry Rietman has been transferred to Wichita, Kansas.  I am glad he was because there were some things about Henry I didn’t care about.  Surely hope Mr. Roberts can stay at home all the time.  I really look up to him.  He is a real executive.

Write again soon, Mom, and don’t worry about me.  Give everyone my love.

                                                                                                 Love,

                                                                                                 Son
